Medellin, Colombia’s second largest city<\/strong><\/h4>\n

However, the city surpasses the capital in terms of urban development and for the deployment of its public transport system. In fact, the “ciudad paisa” stands out as the only city in Colombia to have a metro network. In addition, the city has a bus lines, some of which operate on dedicated lanes, trams, cable cars, etc. With a population of approximately 2.5 million, it is also the second most populous city in the country. During a trip to Medellin and a visit to its different neighbourhoods, one can see this level of development. In the popular neighbourhoods of Sabaneta, Envigado, or Itag\u00fci, for example, municipalities that are now an integral part of the city of eternal spring, you will find yourself in a village in the very heart of the city. Neighbourhoods where old buildings with beautiful woodwork surround squares where the locals come to dance every Friday.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_single_image image=”3737″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Authentic villages around Medellin<\/strong><\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]There are several great destinations for a countryside excursion in the vicinity of the capital of Antioquia. Attractive villages for their architecture, their history, or their natural environment are located around Medellin, some farther than others. These include the famous Guatap\u00e9 and its rock, but also the beautiful municipalities of Jardin, Jeric\u00f3 and Santa Fe de Antioquia.
