From Bogota / easy / 4 days

The trip to the Amazon in a few words:

First, it is necessary to fly from Bogota to Leticia, capital of the Amazon region. Afterwards, a boat will take you to an isolated lodging. During the next few days, you will have the opportunity to experience nature excursions and boat trips to natural and cultural sites (hiking, animal spotting, visits to local communities).

Key itinerary destinations:

Bogota -> Leticia -> Amacayacu National Park -> Leticia -> Bogota

Highlights of this tour:

Observation of some unique endemic species, specific to the Amazon region. Visit to a community. Discovery of the arts, crafts and traditions of the locals (fishing, handicrafts, etc.). Warm and friendly stay with locals, enjoying typical local meals.

Visiting season:

All year round. The rainy season (first half of the year) allows easier river access to certain sites. During dry season (second half), fewer rainfall will make your stay more comfortable. For more information on the visiting season in this region, click here.

Physical condition:

The activities planned during the stay in the Amazon can be arranged according to the physical condition of the participants. Some physical activities can be replaced by others that are easier (and vice versa). Please note that due to the adventurous but mostly isolated nature of this destination, access to health care services can be difficult.
