Colombia’s Nature and Culture tour in a few words:
This tour takes you across 3 iconic regions. First the Andes, mainly Bogota, but also a coffee farm located near the capital. Then the Amazon rainforest. At the end of the trip, the Caribbean coast near the Sierra Nevada, before ending up in Cartagena, the pearl of the Caribbean.
Key itinerary destinations:
Bogota -> Coffee Farm -> Amazon -> Santa Marta -> Sierra Nevada -> Cartagena -> Bogota
Highlights of this tour:
A visit to a coffee farm is one of Colombia’s most emblematic activities. The Amazonian fauna and flora and the Taironaka Ecological Park complete this cultural visit. Through their historical heritage, Bogota and Cartagena constitute the patrimonial aspect of this trip.
Visiting season:
All year round. Note that the first 6 months of the year constitute the rainy season in the Amazon. The water level during this season can therefore influence the activities in this region. For more information on the weather in each region: Bogota, Leticia, Santa Marta, Cartagena.
Physical condition:
The hikes included in this tour do not present any particular difficulty. However, it is important to take into account the climatic conditions of the different destinations. Indeed, the Bogota region is located at 2,600 m above sea level. The Amazon region being remote and undeveloped, a stay in this region can be uncomfortable. And finally, the Caribbean coast is subject to high temperatures throughout the year.
